JTL is one of the top three work-based learning providers in England and Wales and we have ambitious plans for the future.  We now work with approximately 3,800 businesses and train more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector.  Almost 20 years ago we became a charity and since then have continued to diversify our business to enable us to grow and develop.  We support around 8,000 young people in four apprenticeships: Electrical; Plumbing; Heating and ventilating; and Engineering maintenance.

We are developing and growing as an organisation, so this is an exciting time to join JTL.  Our clear vision of the future – and our willingness to grasp the opportunities it offers – give us a fantastic springboard to move forwards. To enhance our proposition and provide a complete career-long training solution we acquired CompEx in 2014 and Develop Training in 2019.

Growth, quality and development are our key priorities and as the new Chief Executive you will have the full support of the Board to invest in the right opportunities.  In order to take this forward, following the Covid challenges faced by many, we are looking for someone who can build strong and effective relationships with our diverse range of stakeholders, the board and government.  You will have a track record of delivering change and must bring the vision to deliver our ambition.  Leading an organisation of over 380 people with a sound financial footing, you will be able to start from a strong foundation and build something that can really make a difference.

If you think you can match our ambition and can help us to deliver this, we want to hear from you.  For further information about this opportunity and to apply, please visit For an informal confidential discussion, please contact our advisers Paul Aristides or Steph Crossland on / or call 0113 268 0704.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community.  JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment.  The role with require a DBS check.
